Improve your operational performance sustainably

Among the methods we use, Lean Six Sigma is often implemented as part of projects to improve operational excellence. Used pragmatically and sensibly, it is very effective. After big names in the industrial sector, pioneers in the world of services have successfully tested the original promise of this ambitious initiative. Beyond the necessary appropriation by the key contributors of the projects, it is a question of creating a dynamic that gives efficiency, serenity and meaning.

A major player in transport decides to launch a continuous improvement project for the front office activities of several of its European subsidiaries. It wants the project to succeed in the pilot country so it can communicate visible, fast and durable results.

WillBe Group consultants have a Lean Six Sigma certification and know how to adapt their offers to their clients and pick the most relevant and appropriate tools in their toolkit. With a thorough knowledge of the client’s needs, the team defines the business scope of application and implements the various steps of the methodology:

    • Preparation
    • Workshops
    • Action plan piloting and result measuring
    • Supporting the creation of a continuous improvement cell
    • Concrete resultats are achieved in limited time, which earns the support and satisfaction of the head office. The knowledge of the project is transferred back to an internal project manager who then generalizes the project to the other subsidiaries.

The French subsidiary of an international insurance group must succeed in its strategic and operational transformation in order to improve its performance and sustain its development in accordance with the objectives set by the parent company. The challenge is daunting: it is about improving sales performance, customer satisfaction and productivity while controlling operational risks and costs.

This strategic break, which is also a cultural break, requires the tight control of a major transformation program: process, information system, organization, activity management method, coaching, change management.

The WillBe Group team is experienced in multicultural environment interventions: it is asked to assist the General Management in:

    • Assessing the expected gains and costs related to the transformation project,
    • Redesigning and describing all core business processes and support,
    • Improving recommendations through a Lean Six Sigma approach,
    • Defining the project’s governance strategy in coherence with the objectives assigned,
    • Securing the start-up and piloting the transformation project, including its IS component and change support.

As a follow-up, the team is asked to train the future head of internal control and to assist him in the design and deployment of a risk management system in compliance with Solvency 2 and the Group’s European system. This work is used to establish a particular focus on Group reporting and to secure data quality.

WillBe Group has set up a pool of skills and expertise within the framework of a PMO (Program Management Office) which supports the internal teams, spread over several European cities, on the various projects for the sake of overall consistency, skills transfer and alignment with the objectives.

Outcome: the ambition of the parent company in London is to rely on feedback from the transformation of the French subsidiary in terms of transformation methodologies and project management to standardize a replicable and adaptable approach that can benefit all of the group’s European entities.
